Full Video : Guy refuses to pay for lap dances at the Gentlemen Club. _ Part 2 #cops #copsoftiktok #copsontiktok | Giovany Witter We’ve Adopted a Baby Baja Truck! Meet Our Long-Term Ford Ranger Raptor For the next 40,000 miles, our trusty pickup is the Ford Ranger Raptor—Ford’s scaled-down version of the legendary F-150 Raptor, built to conquer trails without breaking the bank. Published: April 7, 2026 Reviewed by Eric Stafford Managing Editor, News 2026 Ford Ranger Raptor Supercab Long Term – Exterior View Marc Urbano|Car and Driver Introduction Since 2010, the core formula for the Ford Raptor has remained consistent: a street-legal desert racer with a wide stance, long-travel suspension, and a high-horsepower twin-turbo V-6. The original F-150 SVT Raptor was a groundbreaking vehicle, spawning multiple generations of Raptors and eventually leading to equally capable versions of the Bronco and Ranger. While the F-150 Raptor and Ranger Raptor share essential DNA—widened bodywork, robust suspensions, and powerful V-6 engines—the Ranger Raptor offers a much more accessible price point. Its excellent value led to back-to-back 10Best awards, and the team at Car and Driver is thrilled to put 40,000 miles on this mid-size pickup, affectionately nicknamed the “Michigan Miata.” Exterior Photos Marc Urbano|Car and Driver The initial Ranger Raptor was only available overseas, but Ford smartly decided to bring this capable truck to the U.S. for its second generation, which debuted for the 2024 model year. This truck can be thought of as a Bronco Raptor without the 37-inch tires, removable doors, and convertible top. If those highly desirable features aren’t essential, buyers save roughly $23,000. Furthermore, the base price of the 2026 Ranger Raptor, $58,965, undercuts direct rivals like the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, which starts north of $66,000. While a new Chevy Colorado ZR2 is available for under $53,000, buyers must contend with a 310-hp turbo-four engine (even on the significantly more expensive ZR2 Bison trim). It’s worth noting that the Ranger Raptor already outperformed both the TRD Pro and ZR2 Bison in our off-road shootout. For Sale Near You See all results for new 2026 Ford Ranger Raptor for sale near 63606 We chose the best color available for this model year: Shelter Green Metallic, a $395 option that provides a classy look without being ostentatious. We opted against the racing-style rear-body decals ($750), as none of the office staff subscribe to Monster Energy or possess tribal tattoos. We also stuck with the standard 17-inch wheels instead of the $1,495 forged beadlock-capable rollers, planning to try out a set of aftermarket wheels during the truck’s tenure. After adding the spray-in bed liner ($525), dealer-installed keyless-entry keypad ($230), and a three-year SiriusXM satellite radio subscription ($300), our baby Raptor totaled $60,415. That remains more than $20,000 cheaper than the F-150 Raptor’s entry fee. It also fits more comfortably in garages designed for lower-profile sedans. While the Raptor shares its 128.7-inch wheelbase and five-foot cargo bed with the standard Ford Ranger, its front and rear tracks are 3.5 inches wider to accommodate the standard 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires. However, since the Raptor’s bulged bodywork remains under 80 inches wide, it does not legally require three amber running lights like its larger, wider counterparts. Don’t mistake the Ranger for a lesser Raptor—it’s a highly capable vehicle in its own right. Its steel bumpers frame a fully boxed ladder frame, and extensive underbody armor shields critical components such as the electronically locking front and rear differentials. The fortified suspension is built to withstand abuse. The Ranger Raptor’s front wheels are supported by 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve adaptive dampers combined with longer forged aluminum control arms. The rear Fox shocks feature piggyback-style reservoirs, which help dissipate heat more effectively as the solid rear axle works hard during aggressive driving. Ford also upgraded the regular Ranger’s rear suspension, replacing leaf springs and a Panhard rod with coil springs and a more sophisticated Watt’s linkage with trailing arms, enhancing the truck’s roll stiffness. Interior Photos Marc Urbano|Car and Driver Despite the added stiffness, our initial track test confirms that the Raptor’s peak performance shines brightest off-road. The Raptor’s blocky BFG tires achieved 0.68 g of lateral grip on our skidpad and required a 223-foot stop from 70 mph. However, these numbers do not reflect the truck’s excellent daily-driving capabilities. Its impact-absorbing ride allows us to comfortably navigate Michigan’s notorious potholes. Ford also provides extensive customization options, allowing drivers to independently adjust damping force, steering effort, powertrain attitude, and exhaust volume using buttons on the contoured steering wheel. The “R” mode offers instant access to a saved profile, and the prominent paddle shifters allow precise control over the 10-speed automatic transmission—a feature notably absent in some of the Raptor’s competitors. This mid-size Raptor is a performance powerhouse, matching the 450-hp F-150 Raptor’s 0–60 mph time. In our initial test, the all-wheel-drive Ranger reached 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. However, its 405-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 felt less responsive during a 5–60 mph rolling start, clocking in at 5.8 seconds. The quarter-mile was completed in a respectable 13.9 seconds at 98 mph. Even with a light touch, the baby Raptor consumes fuel at a significant rate. The EPA estimates combined fuel economy at a disappointing 17 mpg, only one mile per gallon better than the heavier V-6-powered F-150 Raptor. At least the Ranger Raptor met the government’s expectations on our 75-mph real-world fuel-economy test, with a previously tested model achieving a slightly less dismal 18 mpg on the highway. Interior Photos Marc Urbano|Car and Driver Our long-term 2026 Ford Ranger Raptor arrived at Car and Driver’s Ann Arbor headquarters just as spring began to bloom. In the two months since its arrival, it has already accumulated over 4,000 miles. Despite some mixed opinions regarding its gruff exhaust note, the staff has largely embraced Ford’s junior Raptor pickup. The Ranger’s ideal proportions make it more practical for daily driving than our current long-term Ram 1500, and its cargo bed proves extremely useful for quick hauling tasks. We have plenty of adventures planned for our new Raptor beyond just daily commutes and transporting mulch. We are considering enrolling in Ford’s “Assault School” and acquiring the Ford Performance tuner to boost the baby Raptor’s power close to that of its big brother. Additionally, with the Silver Lake Sand Dunes only a few hours away, we are eager to explore this truck’s off-road capabilities.
